Day 31! I've now completed over 44% of my total weight loss goal. My weight today is 228.6, so I've cut 31 pounds now. That's great progress.
The problem of clothing is becoming more and more apparent. As I scour through my drawers looking for old jeans that have been long buried and unwearable due to their slimmer waistlines, I am thankful for this healthy transition, and thankful also that I'm not finished yet. I feel totally blessed that I have had this amazing opportunity to lose weight and get healthy. I am thankful as well for finally finding a plan that would accomplish this with a level of effort that is acceptable and only minimally uncomfortable. I am thankful that in another month I will be clothes shopping and be able to have a new wardrobe- how fun!
I also can't believe that I'm in the 220's now- I literally can't remember the last time I was in the 220's... Right after high school?? That would be over 10 years ago. Pretty amazing. My fingers are thinner as well now- I may have to have my wedding ring re-sized. Craziness.
As I was sitting with some friends at dinner last night smelling the wonderful pizza and salad that they were enjoying as I drank my chicken broth, we were discussing all of the physical activities that we could begin doing together. I am looking forward to a more active lifestyle, and to getting out more often to do fun stuff like hiking, biking, and maybe even that mud-run that they are trying to talk me into. We'll have to see about that one!
Things couldn't be going better though. My weight loss is on an even keel with the diet I've outlined, and stepping on the scale each morning has become a fun and liberating event instead of a timid and startling one as it once had been. I'm so thankful for this experience!
James 1:2-4
2 Count it all joy, my brothers,[b] when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know thatthe testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
~Until tomorrow
